buying confidence

The other day when I shopping I made a decision: I am only going to buy pieces that make me feel incredible about myself.  Regardless of how gorgeous/innovative/beautifully made or designed it might be, if it doesn't do anything for me when it's on me, I will not spend money on it.  And, by the same logic, if I find things that make me feel like a rock and roll princess, that make me feel elegant and powerful and unstoppable in my daily life (or beyond), then I will buy them, even if my rational brain says "It's just a t-shirt!  An overpriced t-shirt!"  So, new to my closet, and making me feel invincible beyond the grasp of all logic...



So there you have it.  Yes, I spent a ridiculous amount of money on t-shirts.  And yes, I feel damn good about it.  Feeling good about my new shopping philosophy in general; let's see how long I can keep it up.  Any of you have any shopping rules?  And do you actually follow them?

    Totally with you on this! I have a closet full of things I never wear - it's the basics (t-shirts, jeans, jumpers, black boots) that I wear all the time. Those are the things I've been trying to invest in recently - rather than spur of the moment purchases!

    Well done on all the Wang additions! Just a teensy bit jealous! xx

    Nope never follow them sadly. Haha. I find something that I love and I'm like..."it's worth it...I'm going to wear it forever!" :)

    Just found your lovely blog :) I love that philosophy and love the t-shirts. You'll rock them when you wear them because you'll feel so good, so I think it's an awesome investment.

    i always try to use this theory as well. if it doesn't fit me well or look great on me, i shouldn't buy it. i think i've become much better at picking out clothes that suit me because of it :)

    they dont just look like tshirts tho....they're gorgeous and sleek and can be dressed up or down. great buys id say.
