manly pleasures

A simple crewneck sweater.  You'd think it would be an easy find, but sometimes these staple pieces can be so elusive. 
I was fairly ecstatic to find this oatmeal sweater in the men's department at H&M the other day,  which is quickly becoming my go-to place for perfect boxy sweaters.  The sweet elbow pads were a nice bonus.

While the grey ribbed one was, ahem, appropriated, by my sweet husband (I will admit that it looks pretty amazing on him), the other two are in constant rotation for me.

    These are glorious, I think knits are quite possibly the most indulgent pieces of all to photograph, and like you say, the details are what make them special. Love your selection of colours, and I definitely would be tempted to purchase the green. I still regret selling an old forest green lambswool cardigan last year, and can't even recall why I did so now!

      That's precisely why I'm such a bad closet purger, always worried I'm going to let go of something and later regret it! Haven't picked up the green one yet, but am still seriously considering it, and as the days grow greyer and colder it seems more and more attractive.

    Love! My two most favorite pieces in my own wardrobe are from the boys department. Both are uniform pieces: a pale blue collared shirt and a navy blazer. The shirt has the tiniest collar and the blazer's sleeves hit me right below my elbow. So chic, I love them. And I got them both at a second-hand shop for under $20 BOTH!

      Boys' blazers! What a great idea, I can just picture the 3/4 sleeves and shrunken goodness! Will have to try this myself sometime.

    Love your picks - did you check out any of the merino wool ones - they are beyond soft. I was very tempted but I didn't have time to try last time I was in. They do one in a lovely almost pumpkin shade. How lucky are you that you can share with your hubs. The only time I borrowed from the hubs (with the exception of scarves) was when I was very pregnant and couldn't be bothered to buy anything else.

      I haven't tried to merino ones... yet. Will definitely go again when I have a chance, I think this winter I just want to be swaddled in cozy warmth. I suppose I am lucky to be able to share clothing with my sweet hubby, though honestly we mostly just end up squabbling over our precious beanies :)
