green tea, blue nails
On a bit of a health kick lately: exercising lots, eating really well, going to acupuncture, trying to slow down and relax, and drinking tons of green tea. Makes me so happy to finally put my turkish teapot to good use. Every afternoon I fill it up and it never seems to stop bringing me joy.
Another bit of joy...
Yes, there's a cup as well. So beautiful, and, well, I know I said it before, but it's just plain happy-making. Doesn't hurt to have the robin's egg nail polish to match. Mine is from Kiko Cosmetics, an ultra cheap italian brand that makes every single color you could ever imagine. Joy abounds.

Ooh, tea and nail polish, two of my favorite things! I'm wearing Essie Turquoise and Caicos these days, I love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting into my exercise routine again, but it is hard after being sick and inactive for as long as I have been, and my eating habits have been atrocious lately. I'm slowly getting there though, and I love how I'm getting stronger and faster with every visit to the gym :)
Really? We're both wearing blue nails? How odd... Great minds think alike?
DeleteI'm totally getting into the groove of this health kick, and it's self-feeding really, the better you feel, the more you want to do the things that make you feel better, no? And yes, so satisfying to see the improvement. Keep it up!
I quite often find that the cheaper brands of nail polish are better than some of the pricier well established brands - I'm looking at you Chanel! My favourites shades seem to be all under a fiver and despite them all being dark with a grey undertone, I know they suit my skin tone the best. Far better than the brights amazingly enough. However I can't do pale pinks and pretties. I think the robin's egg blue would die a death on me but works well on you and can I commend you on such a neat paint job.
ReplyDeleteAs for green tea - or rather, I have Chinese tea. I have oodles of the stuff in the house but don't drink it that frequently. Usually when the Earl Grey has run out, I resort to the Chinese tea leaves and being rather lazy, I just drop a few leaves in and wait the obligatory 5 mins. When I first started seeing the Grumps though, we used to have a little white Muji teapot which had a tiny sieve inside for the leaves - then we used to make it seem more of a special thing but now I fuss about cleaning any more than I have to. Do you know what, I might just dig out that tea pot and give it a whirl. If nothing else, it will remind of the early days of when the Grumps and I were courting (a nice old fashioned term).
I use tea bags, is that heretical? Just dump a bag in the pot and let it do its thing, no mess afterwards. Your muji teapot does sound sweet though, and it's always nice to revisit the days of courtship ;)
DeleteAs for my nails, thanks for the compliment on the mani. I've only ever had a professional manicure once in my life so I've had quite a bit of practice. But still, I'm fairly messy with it, what saves me is that the polish on your skin will scrub off in the shower. And yes, 3 cheers for cheep polish. I do love some of my Chanel colors and will cling to them forever, but the truth is they just don't last very long on.
have been wanting to get on one of those health kicks lately! have been thinking about doing more yoga and acupuncture :)
ReplyDeleteinspiring post !
Do it! Once you get started it gets so much easier, and you won't regret a minute of it.
