It's officially spring here in Madrid. We've done daylight savings
time, there's little blossoms blooming everywhere, it's chaotically
alternating rain and sun in a totally unpredictable way, and it is
finally warm enough to go outside without a big coat on. Rejoice! Since it's been a while since my last outfit post, and nothing makes me happier than lots of layers (they call me an onion around here) and I thought I'd show you how I've been piling it on lately. Nothing fancy, just simple, comfy, easy lightweight layers.
On the left: hat - Anne Demeulemeester // sunglasses- Paul Frank // necklace - mashallah pendant I've had (literally) since I was born // hoodie - American Apparel // parka - Filippa K // t-shirt - T by Alexander Wang // pants - Zara // sneakers - Zara
On the right: hat - forte forte // jacket - the kooples // scarf - zara (ancient, but it's just a sheet of jersey fabric - DIY anyone?) // bag - cos (last season) // blouse - zara // jeans - fidelity // boots - moma
As you can see, a lot of these items have been in my closet for ever, so you might not be able to get the exact same pieces now, but here are some other options currently available...
What do you say, are you an onion as well? Have you shed your winter coat yet?
i never encountered a blogger that made me wanna buy the exact items they have and than you came along:) so i've been eyeing that zara blouse since your post. i usually get disappointed when i get there because of the fabrics. we have good well stocked stores here in belgrade and i love zara but most of the pretty things is horrible to the touch. and yet you showed me one that isn't :)
ReplyDeletei love both outfits just my taste these springy days. :)
Thanks so much for your sweet comment! I know the quality at Zara is questionable sometimes, and for sure their pieces won't last decades in your wardrobe, but they really do make some good stuff sometimes. I think it's best just to avoid synthetics, but when they do linen, cotton, wool, and silk, they usually do a pretty good job at it.
DeleteI love the design of your outfit pics, it's really creative! In the UK it's just on the verge of getting warmer. I haven't yet packed my winter coat though, London weather is fickle :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! And yes, I totally hear you, I think spring weather is fairly fickle everywhere. I haven't actually packed my winter goods away yet, just rejoicing in the fact that I'm not tied to the same wool coat day in and day out anymore! So glad you stopped by and commented, I've just been to your blog and it's lovely. Bookmarking it now to take a closer look when I have some more time!
DeleteI love these full outfit posts - it gives me such great ideas. I don't know which one I like best - I like both equally for very different reasons. You have somehow managed to make a beanie and trainers and hoody combo look incredibly covetable and chic with the addition of the sunglasses. And you have pulled off a lovely bohemian (not boho wafty floaty boho) look with the fedora and Zara shirt and jacket. But absolutely loving those boots (sadly but a pipe dream for me). BTW - we still do not have that shirt on our website - it is doing my head in, I'm checking daily though I notice we have a different more girly number using an almost identical fabric which I am very tempted by. Oh heck - another Zara order on it's way!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you still don't have that shirt on the uk site! That is crazy. Did you get the other one? Would love to see it. And thanks so much for your sweet comment. I'm still a little shy about my outfit posts, so it's always so great to get this sort of positive feedback. And yes, never underestimate the power of some dark sunnies for a little added mystique, ha!
DeleteNop - the other one disappeared the day I decided I was going to go for it. Just my luck. You have to move fast with Zara.
DeleteThey don't call it fast fashion for nothin'!
Mmmm, no sé!
Un beso
Gracias! Besos!
DeleteThe weather frog said "Winter comes back this weekend" but still I like looking for fresh new spring and summer outfits. Its new to me that the quality of Zara's clothing has gotten so bad. Until now I found some great items on the Nelly site but they are so expensive for me. Its hard to decide which one I'll take.
ReplyDeleteI actually never am disappointed by the quality of Zara's clothing, maybe I'm really lucky, or selective about my purchases from there, or maybe my expectations are different, but it honestly seems that the price-quality ratio is pretty solid.
DeleteI recently discovered GlassesShop.com. GlassesShop is one of the foremost online retailers of quality but affordable sunglasses.
ReplyDeleteGreat – I should definitely pronounce, impressed with your website. I had no trouble navigating through all tabs as well as related info ended up being truly simple to do to access. best designed e-commerce websites in Singapore
