show some skin
Even though it's now (finally) summer here, I'm slow to show my skin. I start off sort of victorian, with just a bit of ankle. May not seem like much, but I get really really excited when I get to bare my ankles. Of course, it necesitates the perfect little socklet. Lucky for you, I've tried zillions and am here to recommend the most perfect little socklet ever produced.
Here you go...
Falke Invisible Step Socks. What makes them so damn special that I'd be willing to shell out almost $20 a pair? It's the tiny little silicone triangles that make up the anti-slip grip on the inside of the heel. This is no silly gimmick, this anti-slip grip will actually grip and not at all slip.
Maybe it's just me, maybe I've got malformed heels or something, but every other pair of socklets I've ever tried have at some point or another worked their way down my heel and under my foot, leaving me hobbling around with a scrunched up heap of meaningless wrinkles there serving no purpose other than annoying me to death and making it impossible to walk. Tell me this has happened to you too? Well, no more. I say splurge and get yourself a few pairs, you will not regret it. Go ahead, you are now free to bare your ankles fearlessly.

Nope, not just you, it is the bane of my foot in the meeting with tiny socks. These sound terrific!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to know it's not just me. I always feel like the princess and the pea, I can barely take 3 steps before I'm paralyzed with the bunching of fabric. Try these, I swear they are totally worth it.
DeleteI know that one too well! And if you get any which don't slip it's because they come just a tad too high for my liking and you can see them. I've not seen these by Falke before ... but am I willing to spend $20 or the equivalent on them ... I'm not sure. But then again - the weirdest things appeal to me and I spend my money on the weirdest things. So I might go there yet.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that everyone else has the same issue! Not happy that you guys are all suffering, but you know, misery loves company ;) I know, $20 really is a ton of money to spend on something that's so tiny it can't even really be called a sock. And I always get all my socks in cheap multi-packs at H&M. But I swear by these, they have changed my life. And yes, I may be exaggerating slightly, but the fact that they inspire such hyperbole should be recommendation enough!
Deleteyou are so right both about revealing starting with ankles and the scrunched up socks, and such a great find :)
ReplyDeleteLet's hear it for the ankles! Do let me know if you try these socks, for me they have been a total game-changer.
DeleteCute. I like the styling. Definitely Victorian sexy. Old school sexy :D (and I like that you removed the laces - it's a nice touch, even if it's really for your convenience)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the Falke socks before, but I did stumble upon something similar in the pharmacy where there is a small strip of silicone at the heel of the sock - no idea what brand but they were laser cut and I just loved that they didn't have seams. I'd suggest trying those too if you stumble across them. (it's a slightly useless suggestion without a brand I know..)

Ha! I love your slightly useless but totally intriguing suggestion! I will keep an eye out for them in pharmacies all over the world ;)
DeleteI actually took the laces out to polish the shoes and then realized they looked so much better that way, so out they stayed. Glad to know I'm not the only one who likes them like that!
