This is all I want lately. A simple button down shirt, hold the sleeves. It's a way to stay cool without looking like you've given up. Sadly, there's only one of these in my closet right now, and it's silk and reserved for special occasions. Me thinks me needs more.
Some options on the table...
A few of my favorites would be the fabulous Everlane poplin shirt, the dip-dyed shirt from Acne, the simple white from Zara, and that AG chambray button down. Which are your favorites? Do you have a stash of sleeveless shirts for the summer? Do you see a DIY coming?

Zara sale started today! They have loads of crisp white sleeve-less little dudes. Number 3, 6 and 12 are my faves. Xx
ReplyDeleteI know! I totally forgot about the sales and ventured into the center of town, I should have brought my body armor today, ha! Still, good tip, I will check Zara (when the sales calm down a bit). #9 is theirs and I really do like the simplicity of it.
DeleteAw, I just can't do those at all. I think I imagine that they make my shoulders look mega-broad, for some reason. I went out today to look for a few final tops for my holiday and everything I was found was either synthetic and horrible or see-through/side boob inducing. I just want natural fabrics and hidden bra straps, you wouldn't think that would be so hard to find! I ended up with two very pretty but very overpriced breton striped cotton/lycra tank tops. Summer clothing is terribly difficult for this confused Northerner :)
ReplyDeleteI've seen photos of you on your blog and you my dear are far from mega-broad in any sense! Funny how we all have our hangups though. I don't think I've worn a pair of shorts since I was 6 so I'm hardly one to talk. Sorry you had such crap luck finding decent summer clothes. I have to say I love winter/fall dressing much more that dressing for the heat, I love layers and building textures and all that, and in the summer all that goes out the window. I'm just glad they figured out how to make knit linen tees and tanks, those are my go-to this year for keeping cool.
DeleteI don't like my arms and never have so I purposely keep them covered (get's a bit hot in the warm weather). However, I do like sleeveless tops to wear under cardigans as there are no sleeves to bunch up. I quite like no 5. Has a little more coverage to those people with dinnerlady arms.
ReplyDeleteArms covered all through the summer?! That sounds suffocatingly hot, but maybe you guys aren't up into the 100s yet like we are here. Though truth be told, I never wear shorts, so the same could be said for me and my legs...
DeleteWe love these kind of shirts :) As you say, they're the best for summer.

Have to really start thinking about staying cool in this heat!
DeleteI want #8 so badly - but I think I'll have to do some curls and firm up those batwings before I invest in a $300 sleeveless shirt.
ReplyDeleteI know, #8 is gorgeous, isn't it? Way out of my price range as well, but I always think it's good to check out all the options, even if some of them are just pipe dreams. As for the arms, it's so funny to me that so many folks have expressed the same hangups here! I'm sure you all have lovely arms! But if you do want to tone, joining a pool is waaay better than biceps curls. Way more fun too!
DeleteSuperb post however , I was wondering if you could write a litte more on this topic? I'd be very thankful if you could elaborate a little bit more. Thank you! search engine marketing agency
ReplyDeleteI recently came across your blog and have already been reading along. I believed I could leave my first comment. I don't know what to state except that I've enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I could keep visiting this blog very often.
